E84 – The flogging
“Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.” (Mark XV, 15)
Striking in this engraving is the look that Jesus throws at the viewer and at the same time at the stone to which he is chained.
This work was made in Totoral (Argentina) between the 25th of January and the 24th of February 1940.
