E52 – Healing the man with a withered hand
“He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored.” (Luke VI, 10)
“Healing the man with a withered hand” is one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels. In this engraving we see Delhez himself in the clothes he usually wore when he was working in his studio. Delhez relates that to paint his own image, he posed in the mirror of the wardrobe he had detached. This caused difficulties because, for example, the fold in his pants took the opposite direction than it actually was.
